Eligibility Criteria
- The candidate needs to be a Pakistani national.
- Candidate age ranges should be 18 to 24.
- The individual must be enrolled in an undergraduate program and determined to return home once the program is over.
- A contender needs to possess great leadership abilities.
- A candidate needs to have a strong desire to understand American culture.
- An applicant must possess honors, a strong academic record, involvement in the community, and intellectual accomplishments.
- A candidate who has never taken a scholarship program overseas trip would be given preference.
- An applicant needs to speak English well.
Ineligibility
- Dual U.S./Pakistani nationals or U.S. permanent residents.
- Employees of the Fulbright organization, the U.S. Department of State, or USAID, and their spouses, siblings, children, dependents, and parents.
- Students who have been to the United States on a J-visa or a U.S. government-funded grant.
Application Procedure
- Before applying, an applicant must review the eligibility requirements.
- To establish an account and submit an application, candidates must go to the official website.
- The application is divided into numerous sections that are simple to fill in parts.
- Documents that have been scanned must be uploaded with an application.
- Applications submitted via mail will not be accepted; candidates must apply online.
Selection Process
- All applications will be screened by USEFP staff for completeness and minimum qualifications.
- Complete applications that meet the minimum qualifications will be evaluated according to a set of established criteria and short-listed.
- In-person interviews of short-listed applicants will take place in Islamabad between January and February. The interview panels are made up of both U.S. and Pakistani citizens.
- Final candidates and alternates will be selected in April-May. Applicants who have become finalists or alternates will be notified by telephone. Those who have not will be notified by mail.
- Final approval is given by the higher authorities in the U.S.
