Scholarship Benefits

• Monthly Stipend:
  • ¥230,000 per month for 1 to 2 years degree
  • ¥210,000 per month for 3 years degree
  • ¥180,000 per month for 4 to 5 years degree

Eligibility Criteria

• The pupil who does not hold Japanese nationality.

• This award is open to non-Japanese students who will be enrolled in or applying to graduate programs in Japan by September/October 2025.

• A professional graduate school enrolling student is not, in theory, eligible to apply. On the other hand, the applicant who can turn in a research strategy is qualified.

• The time spent enrolled till graduation must be less than twelve months.

• The applicant for a PhD program must begin the course by the age of 35 to be eligible.

• There is no exception to the requirement that a student seeking a master’s program begin the master’s course by the age of thirty.

• To serve in their native nation as a future career plan, the student must possess a strong will.

• The first selection phase’s results will be made public on January 31, 2025.

• The interview stage will be via video conference or in Tokyo in February 2025. Candidates who pass the first screening will be notified directly of the specific dates of their interviews.

• Furthermore, on March 31, 2025, the successful applicants for the Honjo International Foundation Scholarship will be officially announced.
